Counting down...

Can I just say my mummy bear arrives in 9 DAYS!! I just can't put into words my excitement. She actually leaves Australia today and is in England for a week doing some family history and then is on to us here! Too exciting!!

We are off to Utah to do some visiting with family, meet our new nephew Jacob and just have a fun time with the relatives. We are also excited to celebrate the 24th Utah style.

New Do...

I have been attempting to grow my hair since the beginning of the year pretty much and got to the "I am going to chop all my hair off" stage because it was at that ugly length and I had grown alot of my color out and therefore alot of the texture and lustre so I decided to (well with Alicia's help) cut my layers to my shortest layer and make it a little easier and nicer when growing it out. My hair was 'trained' to flip out and it would annoy me a bit so I got a cut that can do both!! Hooray for Alicia my wonderful friend and hairdresser...

Never Say Never...

Cade woke up with a fever of almost 103 yesterday so I took him to the Doctor and it turned out to be a bit of a sore throat. We hung about home, dosed him up, went for some walks and he so badly wanted to play so I let him have a play out on the lawn for a little bit and then he was just so tired, considering he hadn't napped all day this was not a surprise that he got tired at 5pm and fell asleep for about an hour. Last night he went to bed pretty well but woke 4 times before 1:30am, each time soaking wet with sweat, poor little man.
This morning he woke bright and early and had no fever, was doing good. But once again WOULD NOT take a nap. He was tired from about 10:30am on but finally at noon I had fed him and told him in no uncertain terms that it WAS nap time. Shyeah right, this is a stubborn Anderson boy I am dealing with! He has always taken naps really well, and once down sleeps for a good 2-3 hours, so this no nap business was not working in my world. I let him cry it out for about 15 minutes and he was just sobbing. I went to get him and usually when he is picked up he is instantly quiet and consoled, well not today. HE WAS A NIGHTMARE! Carrying on crying, totally inconsolable. He cried for about 20 minutes and I was so done! Cory was due home for lunch at any time so I called him and asked to make it snappy... None of my mummy tricks were working and thought 'fresh hands' would do a world of good. (Fresh hands is something Cory and I have called it when Cade, even as new born got a little fussy and would completely settle with the other person). Well the fresh hands worked... for about 20 minutes until Daddy attempted to put little man down for a nap and oh my goodness, NIGHTMARE! I ended up taking Cade to the car and driving until he fell asleep... now this is where my title comes in... I swore I would NEVER do this, console a child by driving around endlessly... well NEVER SAY NEVER!! He fell asleep less than 5 minutes into the drive and was so zonked out he was laying on the arm rest of his car seat! Was cute... now that he was asleep... As soon as we got home a truck pulled up and woke Cade ARGH!! He started back up again and thankfully was happier than previously. Cory amused him in order to give me a break and I took a much needed nap. He still hasn't napped, not more than 20 minutes all day and I have so missed him napping, he is so much happier for it and so am I. Lets hope this is just illness related and that he isn't giving up naps. Oh I do not look forward to that day!!

Cousin Fun

When Christian and Andrew came for the day it was all fun and games for these 3 boys. Cade was so happy to have his cousins to play with.

Sunday Was A Special Day...

It was Jesse's baptism today and it was really nice. Chad and Joan (Cory's parents) came around lunch time and we had a nice lunch with them and Christian and Andrew (Cory's nephews who are having a 'holiday' at his parents), Jesse and Alisa. Cade was TOTALLY in his element. Loved having his cousins there and Grammy and Grandpa. I really enjoyed the day. Then it was off to church, Jesse is in Ridgeview, our old ward so it was nice to go support him and see all those familiar faces. Actually there was not a lot of people there at all, did not even feel like the Ridgeview I knew. Then we came home to visit before we headed back to the church for Jesse's baptism. It was a really good turn out and I was so thankful for the support of the ward, what a blessing to Jesse! His parents were also there to support him and it was a surprise as they were actually meant to be out of town. Another blessing of the day!

Our 4th

We had a great 4th of July. We decided to go to "Freedom Has A Birthday" in Washington Park, and I seriously had a blast. It was really nice to get out on such a nice. I can actually say Laramie was hot, yes hot! There was absolutely no wind which is amazing I know, so it was great day! Cade did really well, loved petting everyones dogs walking around, I am sure he thought he was in heaven! We left earlier than we would have liked but knew that Cade would have been hurting for a nap. We got home and he was out within minutes. That evening we had Jesse, Alisa's boyfriend (Alisa is Cory's youngest sister) over for a BBQ and then Robyn, Andrew and James came over for some games and Alisa and Jesse headed for the concert. We played games for a while and then went out beside our apartment for the 'perfect' view of the fireworks. It was nice not to have to fight crowds or traffic I tell ya. Cade did so well, went to bed at 10:30pm which is atleast 2 hours past his bedtime but he did so well and had napped for over 3 hours in the afternoon. I am slack and don't have any photos, I totally spaced our camera.

Bits and Pieces

Well, I forgot my camera this weekend so I will have to hit up my mother-in-law for the photos she took this weekend.

We had such a good time. It was just such lovely weather, no real agenda and just a relaxing, fun time for all. It was my mum and Bobbi's birthday on Sunday so we celebrated Bobbi's (Cory's sister) birthday at my in-laws with a BBQ and cake! It was a fun time.

I called my mum to wish her a happy birthday and she seemed really stressed. She is planning her trip to us, arriving August 1st. Last time she attempted to come over for Cade's birth she was in a terrible head on car accident and ended up in hospital for 3 months, so needless to say she is, I am sure, somewhat anxious about her trip this time round. I am just so glad she is coming. I have really felt the need to have her see my life here. I can't put words together or put my finger on my exact feelings of why I NEED her to come over here in place of me travelling back to Australia, but I am so grateful and so excited for her coming.... I am the baby in the family and a big mummas girl....

This week since we got back I have been a real home body and have quite enjoyed it. I came down with some little bug that kept me home bound so it worked out I guess. Cade has been a good little boy. He is just such a joy. I really love being home with him and love this stage in his life, so busy and oh so smart. He is talking more, jabbers constantly and plays much better by himself now. For the first time he is actually interested in the TV and asks to watch "shows". It worries me a bit but if I turn off the TV he is just as content so I figure a little won't hurt when I am doing dishes or while he eats his breakfast or I am preparing meals.

Cade has extended his vocabulary a fair bit lately, he still says his previous words and has added a few. He says - Mumma, Daddy, Danpa (Grandpa), Caye (Cade), No, More, Out, Car, Dog, Puppa (Puppy), Fish, Truck, Go, Juice, Shoes, Where Is It, There It Is, What's that, Oh no!, Nose, Eye, Show, Look, Pooy/Poopy/PooPoo, Tubba, Yum Yum, Nana (banana). I am enjoying his talking and jabbering.

This post really was just bits and pieces...

Update

Well nothing much has been happening in our little world this week. I do have a note worthy something though, I have been reconnected with my best friend in 7th and 8th grade (our friendship went through some turbulence), and after 12 years we have hit it off. I am so excited, we have been facebooking it back and forth and I am so loving it. Making up for lost time!!

Cade has been a delight. No Monday madness this week, we made it unscathed!! We have been trying to get out and about and enjoy the sun. I swear everyone will know my sons name as I am forever calling his name when he 'runs' off, darting here and there. As I have previously said, he is the most predictable child, EXCEPT when playing outside. He is such a busy boy. I have told Cory we need to live somewhere conducive to outside play almost all year round so my child or myself will not go insane!! That life is at least 2 years away however... I can wishfully think til then right....

We are off to Grandpa Chads and Grammie Joans for the weekend and Cade can't stop talking about Puppa or Puppy Sydie!! It will be fun. I am excited. I will have some pics I am sure after this weekend. Here are some recent ones to tide you over til then...

Had to blur the 'bits'

Dressing Up In 'Cade' Style

I had mentioned before about Cade's dressing up, with a random shoe, Cory's hats and a glove, well I finally thought to get the camera to catch his almost daily habit. He is such a character. The funnest little boy. We just love him to bits. (The shoe he has on is actually from Cory's 'My Buddy' doll that he had as a child and Joan-Cory's mom gave it to us for Cade).
