In The Know...

Just so you are 'in the know' we are pleased to announce that our little family will be moving on.

Cory was offered and accepted a job and gave his notice yesterday. We had been keeping this private and remained in limbo for some time as we wanted to do right by his current employer and now that they are in the know....

We are excited for a new adventure but are nervous in the same respect. We will make a smaller move for 6-8 weeks training and then we will be placed anywhere in the region covering Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming. We would be happy with any of these places but would be up for a change.

Cade is super excited and keeps asking if today is the day we move to our new house. That day will not be until Mothers Day! Mothers Day? Really? Such is life!

Needless to say, graduation weekend will be super busy with family here and us madly packing last minute things and doing final cleaning and then a baby blessing on Mothers Day... busy, busy.

We are happy and healthy and thankful for these blessings and for having a good job and a place to live. I personally am so thankful for a husband that worked his butt off not just in school but out of school to support our family and for his honestly and integrity. I truly admire him.

Mama Career - Sunny Mummy

I often read this blog and I so enjoy it. I love that she is upbeat and oh so sunny! I love that she has a Thankful Thursday, something I would love to try my hand at, not just having a day to be thankful for all that I have (usually that is my Sunday), but to document it too. I love that she is a fellow Aussie! I have subscribed to her feed and enjoy her thoughts so much.

She has a great post today and I just personally loved it.

I found this story and it just so rings true and speaks to my heart....

Sometimes we wonder, "why are things so difficult?" or "why/how long do I have to struggle with this particular trial?" Here is a wonderful explanation...

A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong. She feels inadequate as a mother to her young children and wife to her sweet husband; she can't seem to stretch their income; and she doesn't feel like she connects very well with her friends.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a piece.
"Absolutely, Mom! I love your cake!"
"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers.
"Yuck" says her daughter.
"How about a couple of raw eggs?"
"Gross, Mom!"
"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe some baking soda?"
"Mom, those are all yucky!"

To which the Mother replies, "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves, but when they are put together in the right way, and in the right time, they make a wonderful cake!"

Our Heavenly Father works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. He know that when we go through these thing all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will make something wonderful!!

Realizations...

I have come to some sad realizations....

No longer can I wear one of my all time fave perfumes as it now gives me headaches... what's with that?!

With these beautiful warmer weather changes I should be feeling fabulous and happy and want to be outside, but instead I get all headachey and tired and wake with allergies. Let's hope that changes, REAL soon and not because of a colder front of weather!

I have come to realize my baby is no longer a little baby but a demanding little piggy who would dance and yell for anything with sugar or chocolate in it... just like his mumma!! ;)

ARGH...!!!

I am frustrated!

I hate frustration...I get in a frustration rutt and find it hard to climb out or change my furrowed brow!!

I get particularly frustrated with things beyond my control.

I feel like the reason for these times of frustration is for me to suck it up and be patient and have a little faith.

That in itself is frustrating!!

Do I Have Something On My Face....?!

Ethan's 1st Birthday P.A.R.T.Y!!

Well, actually it was a small little party and I sadly didn't even do invitations... I know, I know! I have dropped the ball on that one, but it was fun none the less.

Ethan was a joy, no nap prior and went down like a dream after the fun and celebrations. He made out like a bandit though and got some lovely, fun and noisy toys that Cade seems to confiscate and play with more than Ethan but Ethan was happy with the balloons that littered our house for days!

We had a blue and green, half carrot half chocolate, worm cake. Carrot cake is Ethan's fave so we had to have that in there! He had a great day. Simple and fun. It was the first time Cory's parents have been able to make it to any of the boys birthdays so we were very grateful for that. Who knows where either of our families we will be when another birthday rolls around so I am glad that we got one birthday in there before a big move.

Cade... my boy

Due to the journal-ing aspect of this blog and for the fact that I have neglected to put this on... bad mom I know

Cade had lots of things going on for the months of February/March. There were a couple of firsts that kept him, daddy and I busy.

He started indoor soccer. Cade is all about soccer. Any and all balls were soccer balls. All shirts will balls on them, were 'Soccer ball game shirts'. It wasn't until he started playing that he now realises that there is a difference in the balls. Funny little man.

He was on the Green Monkeys team and he ran his little heart out. Not often did he connect with the ball and more times than not he was way more concerned with the attention of the crowd than where the ball actually was. It was a great first for all of us though and we will for sure be signing him up again. He was sad when he no longer had games on Saturday mornings, but we didn't miss the 8am starts! Bittersweet I guess.

Cade also took swimming lessons. He did great and loved to go. He was a little too eager at times and at his last lesson actually jumped in the lazy river 3 times and had to be scooped up by the teachers. He had to go in time out the 3rd time as I think it scared the instructors. I about jumped in the pool myself, they were right there and had no clue he had jumped in! I am not good with my kids in water, I think I mentioned that before, but I MADE myself sit and let them do their job and thankfully they did and Cade knew how to hold his breath and thankfully he did not drown... nightmares I tell ya, caused me nightmares! :)

We sure enjoyed the busyness of that 6 weeks and it was good to get out and try new things. Cade was able to have some Daddy/Cade time at soccer practices and some Mummy/Cade time with swim lessons. It was nice. Was a little taste of the busy life we will have once school and tumbling class or something else fun comes into the picture as Cade gets older. We sure love our Cade and how willingly he tries new things.

Melting Moments

On Sunday Cory and Cade were wrestling and Cade got his toy plastic hammer out and was 'adjusting' Cory's back.

Cory goes, "Cade, are you going to be a chiropractor?"

to which Cade replied, "Sure daddy, I'll be a pirate cracker!"

We about peed ourselves with laughter!

Grrrr....

I have lost my stinkin' cord for my camera to upload pics.

Once I get that situated I will back in the blogging game.

I have been an ubber slacker but other things have kept me busy I assure you!

Lots to update... just lack of care to do so... sad I know.
