We had a great 4th of July. We decided to go to "Freedom Has A Birthday" in Washington Park, and I seriously had a blast. It was really nice to get out on such a nice. I can actually say Laramie was hot, yes hot! There was absolutely no wind which is amazing I know, so it was great day! Cade did really well, loved petting everyones dogs walking around, I am sure he thought he was in heaven! We left earlier than we would have liked but knew that Cade would have been hurting for a nap. We got home and he was out within minutes. That evening we had Jesse, Alisa's boyfriend (Alisa is Cory's youngest sister) over for a BBQ and then Robyn, Andrew and James came over for some games and Alisa and Jesse headed for the concert. We played games for a while and then went out beside our apartment for the 'perfect' view of the fireworks. It was nice not to have to fight crowds or traffic I tell ya. Cade did so well, went to bed at 10:30pm which is atleast 2 hours past his bedtime but he did so well and had napped for over 3 hours in the afternoon. I am slack and don't have any photos, I totally spaced our camera.

Bits and Pieces
Well, I forgot my camera this weekend so I will have to hit up my mother-in-law for the photos she took this weekend.
We had such a good time. It was just such lovely weather, no real agenda and just a relaxing, fun time for all. It was my mum and Bobbi's birthday on Sunday so we celebrated Bobbi's (Cory's sister) birthday at my in-laws with a BBQ and cake! It was a fun time.
I called my mum to wish her a happy birthday and she seemed really stressed. She is planning her trip to us, arriving August 1st. Last time she attempted to come over for Cade's birth she was in a terrible head on car accident and ended up in hospital for 3 months, so needless to say she is, I am sure, somewhat anxious about her trip this time round. I am just so glad she is coming. I have really felt the need to have her see my life here. I can't put words together or put my finger on my exact feelings of why I NEED her to come over here in place of me travelling back to Australia, but I am so grateful and so excited for her coming.... I am the baby in the family and a big mummas girl....
This week since we got back I have been a real home body and have quite enjoyed it. I came down with some little bug that kept me home bound so it worked out I guess. Cade has been a good little boy. He is just such a joy. I really love being home with him and love this stage in his life, so busy and oh so smart. He is talking more, jabbers constantly and plays much better by himself now. For the first time he is actually interested in the TV and asks to watch "shows". It worries me a bit but if I turn off the TV he is just as content so I figure a little won't hurt when I am doing dishes or while he eats his breakfast or I am preparing meals.
Cade has extended his vocabulary a fair bit lately, he still says his previous words and has added a few. He says - Mumma, Daddy, Danpa (Grandpa), Caye (Cade), No, More, Out, Car, Dog, Puppa (Puppy), Fish, Truck, Go, Juice, Shoes, Where Is It, There It Is, What's that, Oh no!, Nose, Eye, Show, Look, Pooy/Poopy/PooPoo, Tubba, Yum Yum, Nana (banana). I am enjoying his talking and jabbering.
This post really was just bits and pieces...

Update
Well nothing much has been happening in our little world this week. I do have a note worthy something though, I have been reconnected with my best friend in 7th and 8th grade (our friendship went through some turbulence), and after 12 years we have hit it off. I am so excited, we have been facebooking it back and forth and I am so loving it. Making up for lost time!!
Cade has been a delight. No Monday madness this week, we made it unscathed!! We have been trying to get out and about and enjoy the sun. I swear everyone will know my sons name as I am forever calling his name when he 'runs' off, darting here and there. As I have previously said, he is the most predictable child, EXCEPT when playing outside. He is such a busy boy. I have told Cory we need to live somewhere conducive to outside play almost all year round so my child or myself will not go insane!! That life is at least 2 years away however... I can wishfully think til then right....
We are off to Grandpa Chads and Grammie Joans for the weekend and Cade can't stop talking about Puppa or Puppy Sydie!! It will be fun. I am excited. I will have some pics I am sure after this weekend. Here are some recent ones to tide you over til then...
Had to blur the 'bits'

Dressing Up In 'Cade' Style
I had mentioned before about Cade's dressing up, with a random shoe, Cory's hats and a glove, well I finally thought to get the camera to catch his almost daily habit. He is such a character. The funnest little boy. We just love him to bits. (The shoe he has on is actually from Cory's 'My Buddy' doll that he had as a child and Joan-Cory's mom gave it to us for Cade).

Mischief Mondays... arhg!!
For the last two Mondays Cade has been quite the mischief maker! Last Monday he got into my chocolates and made a big mess all over the couch and himself. (I must say my first thought was that he had smeared poop all over himself so I was glad that it was chocolate!) I can usually only eat 2 of these chocies at a time so when Cade had attempted 7 I was awaiting an upset stomach that never came. (thank goodness)
No sooner had I cleaned up the above, when I come to find this lovely art work from the before mentioned mischief maker! The upset stomach that never came to Cade seemed to hit me by proxy or something which was happening while this little man got to drawing with permanent red marker on my dining table!! He had a fierce talking to and a time out which he half faked crying in for you in the pics. He is such a faker I tell ya!
Monday this week he got into my lip gloss and got it all over his face and shirt. I was too concerned at getting out of the house that morning that I didn't bother with the camera and just got him cleaned up and we went off to play group at the play ground at Washington Park. There are 2 play grounds here and one I like as it is small for little ones and there is a larger on with sand etc. Well as we pulled up there were a load of kids coming to play from daycare centers around etc and so it was mayhem to say the least so I was trying to keep Cade in the small playground. He wasn't up for that and darted over to the bigger kids in the larger one and ran from me underneath a girl on the monkey bars who was swinging and flailing back and forth and kicked Cade fare in the mouth and I just picked him up dusted him off and he was off without any cry etc. I watched him like a hawk here and kids were not watching or minding so I took him back to the smaller one (with much protesting and tantrum throwing... I know you're laughing mum!).
He kept running around, not watching where he was going so I was ending up having to fetch him from disaster as my yells of Cade, Cade, CADE!! were not working. This proved to be the case when he ran between a lady pushing her child on the swing and the child in the swing and got smack in the head by the little girl pumping her legs. It would have hurt big time. It picked him up off the ground and he landed flat on his back. I wanted to cry. He was bawling. I just wanted to pack up and go home! You know how they just have those days when they are in the wars and nothing you do can help. I hate those days!!
Oh the joys! What will next Monday bring... I dare not ask!!

Just Chillin'
Cade 'just chillin'. He seems to really enjoy this toy that Annie our downstairs neighbor gave him. Just this morning I heard these awful cries and Cade had got his arm stuck in the top of it. He often uses it to hide/hold/hoard his pacifiers and carries it to us to retrieve them out.
Funny boy.
(I just realized that in almost all these pics I have posted these last few days, he is wearing the same outfit... alot were taken on the same day so just so you know I do change my childs clothing!)

Cade and Aftyn
I was watching Aftyn one night and the kids went out to play on the balcony and oh what fun!! There are often people walking in the green belt beside us and the kids caught sight of someone walking their dog... Aftyn and Cade are good buddies and it is cute to watch them grow up together.

We Are OFFICIALLY Off The Bottle!!!
Yay, yah!! Cade this week has officially handed off the bottle!! He really did great, he still likes his night time milk as part of his bedtime routine but his sippy has worked wonders. I am just so proud of him, he really is my delightful little boy.
These Boots were made for ..... Cade??
I tried to track down some pictures of me doing this exact thing but me in my dads boots but I can't find the photos, will have to hit mum up for them...
Cade loves my shoes, whether it is my high heels or flip flops or boots he is always wanting to wear my shoes about the house so when Cory and I caught him we got some pictures, priceless!!
