The First Annual Great Easter Egg Hunt 2008

Here is some pics of Cades' first 'Great Easter Egg Hunt'! We had a quiet but really nice Easter. We had our friends, The Brays over for dinner and their girls were hunting buddies with Cade. It was so much fun watching Cade enjoy himself and get excited. It is easier to enjoy the holiday season when little ones are about! There are a couple of pictures of Cade laying on his boppy with Kaitlyn and Maddie (Nolan and Holly's girls). It is funny, Cade knows to be rough with Kaitlyn, that he can play like a boy with her as she is twice his age, but Madison is so tender and he is all lovey to her. It is cute. He is a ladies man!! Goes after the older girls!!

Lefty

Well it sure has been a while since I posted, so I thought it about time to collect my thoughts and catch up.
I broke my arm last week. Slipped on some fresh snow while walking Sunday evening to check the mail, and hyperextended my arm, dislocating my elbow and chipping a bone in the process. It hurt!! I was sedated for them to put my elbow back in place and apparently I was pretty amusing. Telling them my life story pretty much and trying to hook the cute male nurse up with my sister!! When I first woke for about 2 minutes before nodding off again, I told them "they need to sell that stuff on the black market as it was awesome, I didn't dream or anything!" A little embarrassing that there was no filter there but oh well. Bit of a laugh.
I am out of a cast now and just in a sling. I am getting better with exercise slowly but surely. I tell ya, it was a shake up in our world last week though. Cory had to totally reschedule his life as I couldn't do a thing with regard to Cade and was exhausted from the medication I was on, but we got through it. Cory is a trooper, stepped up to the plate with flying colours. I am better this week with taking care of Cade, I still have difficulty changing diapers and cannot dress or bath him yet but we are doing better.

Cade baby

Well our little man is sick with RSV. We took him to the Dr yesterday to have it confirmed. We pretty much knew he had it as we had some friends over and each of there girls got RSV so it was just a matter of time with Cade. Lucky for us he is responding to just breathing treatments so nothing more invasive is needed. He seems to be on the mend though, which is great. He is a trooper. He has been the healthiest little boy, what a blessing.

Nan Turner

My dad called me on Saturday to let me know my nan had passed away. I told dad that mum and I were just speaking of her 2 days before hand at the good fight she had put up as it was 3 years since they gave nan a short period of time to live and she far exceeded that. She will be missed and it is hard to see those you love and care for and remember fit and well, suffering, and she was suffering from dementia and couldn't recognize or remember her family that visited. I find it difficult as I am unable to travel to her funeral as all my siblings are and I guess that is the hardest thing about living in another country, away from family, is the sacrifice of not being able to be there or say goodbye when life is at stake. Goodbye Nan Turner. I love you and am glad I remembered you as that fiesty, fun lady you are!!

Cade's First Haircut

While Aunty Netty was visiting, Cade got his first haircut (at 13 months old!). He did alright. My friend Alicia, who is also my hair dresser said Cade did awesome for his first time. We had some squirmy wormy moments and a few tears but here are some cute pics of him.

A Change In The Life of The Andersons

Well we just found out today after rumors, speculation and a big heads up that this was not going ahead, that our ward is being split. I was actually giving a talk today and sat beside the Stake President and he was chatting away to his councellors and I saw the overhead project behind us that we were all to familiar with when our ward was split previously in August. Then the Stake President made his announcement and we gave our sustaining vote and the 1st Councellor leaned over and grabbed my arm and thanked me for my vote and I started to cry, then I had to get up and give a 15 minute talk!! I was able to compose myself somewhat to get my message across but it was a sad day. My young women and the leaders all shared their testimony in Young Womens so we got through it. I have loved serving these girls. They just surprised me so much today when they each bore their testimony and it touched my heart so much. I have served them for just over 2 years and it is sad to leave them and go to a new ward. I do understand that change is progress and I want those young ladies and my own family to progress and maybe this is how it will happen for us.

Hen House Handcrafts....

Well I am trying to get a little business off the ground but it is in the very early stages. I have a few things that I have in my house that I have had a crafty hand in (well maybe just a fingertip) but I am all excited to get started on my own. I actually got the vinyl from another seller but this is a taste of what I want to get into, so we'll see and I will keep you posted if it gets off the ground at all.....

Catch You Up

Well alot has happened since last post.....

We have seen out 2007 and have rung in 2008 and I am sad to see 2007 go but am excited for a whole new year. Cade celebrated his 1st birthday in November and that was exciting, more so for mummy than for Cade I am sure. The Anderson clan are doing well, with school, work, church and home life keeping us occupied all too well. Aunty Netty came and visited with us for a month from Australia and we were sad to see her go, it was such a good visit. She was able to spend Christmas with us and while everyone in Aus was having a 'wonderfully warm' Christmas, we were having a 'wintery white' Chrismas (and it was definately a white Christmas...snowed fresh snow especially for Aunty Netty!).

I have been busy with a bunch of crafty activities and am looking into starting up my own little business, but we'll see it is definately in the 'looking into' stage right now.

Cory is doing excellent in school. Just finished his 1st semester of the year and has a little time off (another week or so) and the count down is on. We think he maybe done in a year give or take. Who knows where we will end up at that stage.....
